About Us
Hello and welcome. My name is Larry Suttles I’m the owner of Bluegrass Reptiles which is a family owned hobby/business that works exclusively with ball pythons but I am looking to start keeping and breeding some boas, dwarf retics and hognose snakes.
My wife Tracy and I have three children two girls and a boy Alex, David and Hailey. I’ve been active with reptiles throughout my life and h ave always dreamed of working with them on a day to day basis.
Now as an adult I’ve went full circle keeping Ball Pythons as a young child then graduating to broader variety like monitors and crocodilians as well as exotic venomous snakes only to come back to Ball Pythons now. I started my collection like many with some heterozygous animals for varies genes and have been building it ever since. My collection is still relatively small but it’s steadily growing almost daily.
I started Bluegrass Reptiles with the goal of selling captive born and bred ball pythons with quality customer service and relations. Emphasizing communications which I believe is a must in any business.
In late 2004 I started buying up morphs and stock piling normal females. I took out a second mortgage and maxed out a couple cedit cards. Yep the ultimate plunge especially when I had a wife and two kids and I was the sole source of income.
My first breeding season 06/07 I produced a really nice group of possible het lavender albino females all of which I held back and was extremely fortunate to hatch out a pair of lavender albinos.
Also during this first breeding season I started Reptile Radio which is a weekly talk radio program based on the reptile hobby and industry. Brian Taylor (co-host) and I have interviewed some of the most well know reptile breeders and keepers in the world.
Needless to say I haven’t been around long but I love the animals and the business so I'm here to stay. Have a look at my blog it'll give you a chance to get to know me a bit. Feel free to call or email with any questions.
To be continued.....
Sincerely,
Larry Suttles
